An alcohol-fueled fight began just after 5 a.m. inside a Mexican bar and restaurant in Jackson Heights. A verbal dispute started at the restaurant and continued outside on the street. The confrontation escalated when a suspect brandished a firearm and opened fire. The 30-year-old victim was shot multiple times in the torso, back, and buttocks. Police and EMS responded and transported him to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was expected to survive. The victim was not cooperating with the investigation. The suspect fled in a white van after being last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. No arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.
