A 13-year-old girl walking home from school was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man on West Elm Street, briefly struggling before escaping to her home.
Brockton Police were notified of the incident Wednesday, beginning a canvass for the unidentified suspect, who is described as a Black man in his 20s.
Interim Brockton Superintendent Priya Tahiliani emphasized the importance of vigilance among students and encouraged them to report any concerning activities to trusted adults.
Support remains a priority for the school community as they collaborate with law enforcement to aid in identifying the suspect and supporting the affected family.
