Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson will not play against the New York Liberty due to an ankle injury, marking her first missed game since August 2019.
Coach Becky Hammon confirmed Wilson's condition stating, 'It was a very precautionary decision, and we're taking it very slow with her.' She added, 'A'ja is having an amazing season, that's a big loss for them.'
Hammon noted that Wilson 'didn't really have a choice' in sitting out, emphasizing the necessity to prioritize her health amid an impressive season.
New York coach Sandy Brondello acknowledged Wilson's absence would challenge them, saying, 'It allows Becky to explore different rotations and give confidence to other players.'
