Raymond Kwok is accused of stabbing a man for accidentally bumping into him at an East Village subway station, leading to a violent altercation.
The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition to receive stitches from the attack, which was captured on surveillance video.
Prosecutors were seeking to hold Kwok on $25,000 cash bail, but Judge Michael Gaffey decided to release him on supervised release despite the serious charges.
Kwok, 27, was arrested after the brawl on Sept. 23, where police discovered three knives in his possession, including a switchblade.
