A deadly tornado that wreaked havoc in Greenfield, Iowa killed four people and injured nearly three dozen. The twister was rated at least an EF-3 and caused massive destruction, taking over a day for authorities to confirm residents' safety.
The twister also crumpled massive power-producing wind turbines several miles outside Greenfield, leaving homes obliterated, trees splintered, and cars crumpled. Residents like Kimberly Ergish sifted through debris, struggling to come to terms with the devastation. Ergish commented, 'If it weren't for all the bumps and bruises and the achy bones, I would think that it didn't happen.'
