Jabrill Peppers, 29, was arrested for serious charges including assault and strangulation after a disturbance at a home in Braintree, Massachusetts, over the weekend.
After appearing in court on Monday, Peppers pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, which also include possession of cocaine, and posted bail of $2,500.
The New England Patriots acknowledged the incident involving Peppers and stated they are aware of the police investigation but will refrain from further comments for now.
Peppers, recovering from a shoulder injury, missed playing in the recent game against the Miami Dolphins, and he has recently been signed to a lucrative contract.
