Patriots adopt 'Take them to the hill' as rallying cry for 2024 season
Briefly

"We got to the point where it was just, we saw what type of game it turned into, and the cool part was it was no egos in the huddle... Everybody kind of bought into it and realized we're running one play the whole time and they're not stopping it, so why change it? I think that was one of the cooler moments in my career. Everybody in the huddle was saying, 'Let's take them to the hill' because we knew we were in that much better shape than they were, and I think it paid off."
"The emphasis on conditioning and physical readiness does not come as a surprise... Jerod Mayo mentioned how the foundation of his team would be laid in the weight room. The actual on-field work, which featured daily sprints up the hill in training camp, was a continuation of that. New England's grueling training camp did pave the way to victory against the Bengals, though."
"The saying, which started spreading in the huddle and on the sideline, was a reference to the Patriots' conditioning work: for years, the team has been doing post-practice sprints on a man-made incline adjacent to the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium; the hill was even featured on NFL Films' Do Your Job documentary following Super Bowl LI."
