James White, previously a running back for the New England Patriots and a three-time Super Bowl champion, has landed his first coaching position at the University of Illinois. Head coach Bret Bielema praised White's impressive character and leadership skills, both on and off the field. White's experiences as a professional player provide a significant resource for developing the team's running backs, as he brings a wealth of knowledge from his NFL career and past collegiate experience in the Big Ten.
"Since first recruiting James out of St. Thomas Aquinas, he has continued to be an impressive person both on and off the football field," Illini head coach Bret Bielema stated.
"James has always been a leader in the locker room and demanded respect from his teammates and coaches," highlighting White's leadership qualities.
"With his experiences in the Big Ten and on the biggest stages in the NFL, he will be a great resource for our running backs," said Bielema about White's impact.
