Mike Vrabel's one season as a consultant for the Cleveland Browns left a significant impression on general manager Andrew Berry, who spoke highly of Vrabel's coaching skills and infectious enthusiasm. Despite being let go from his previous head coaching role with the Tennessee Titans, Vrabel contributed positively during his time in Cleveland. He confirmed that there were no long-term plans or discussions about staying with the Browns, although he appreciated the relationships he made during his consultancy.
Mike's awesome. He has this infectious energy. He's a ball coach. He loves being on the grass. He loves being with the players. He loves developing young coaches.
I think New England's very, very fortunate to hire him. He can coach any position on the field, and he has more knowledge in his pinky finger than probably most people would in 20 years of football.
Enjoyed my time. I appreciate Jimmy and Dee, the entire Haslam family, Andrew, and Kevin [Stefanski]. But there was no conversation about any long-term plans.
There was no long-term conversation with the Browns about future roles. I would have listened, because I didn't have a job at the time.
