Wilson's contributions extend to partnering with organizations like Make-A-Wish and United Heroes League, as well as pledging money per Capitals win for youth-focused nonprofits like So Kids Can.
In addition to his work with Forty Three's Friends and So Kids Can, Wilson is recognized for his involvement with local first responders, Hockey Fights Cancer, and Wolf Trap Animal Rescue.
Wilson was also the recipient of the Caps Care Community award and is expected to take over the Capitals' captaincy after Alex Ovechkin's retirement.
