Ken Holland's time as the general manager for the Edmonton Oilers is over. The decision not to renew his contract, which was in the final month, was confirmed three days after losing Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.
Jeff Jackson, the Oilers CEO of hockey operations, mentioned that Holland's contribution led the team to success over the past five seasons and established a culture of winning in Edmonton.
Holland, formerly with the Detroit Red Wings for 34 seasons and with three Stanley Cups to his credit, joined the Oilers in May 2019 with the aim to help them win the Stanley Cup.
