Aden Durde, 46, from north London, became the first overseas coach to win the Super Bowl as Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator. The pathway began with watching the 1986 Chicago Bears and coaching five years as defensive coordinator of the London Warriors. Internships with the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons led to Britain’s first full-time NFL coaching role in 2018 with Atlanta. Durde progressed through roles in Atlanta and Dallas before Mike Macdonald hired him as Seattle's defensive coordinator in 2024. Durde helped craft a defence described as fast, physical and ball-hungry and earned widespread praise for his football mind and team-building impact.
