Morgan Weaver of the Portland Thorns will miss the upcoming NWSL season due to an unresolved knee injury. She announced her diagnosis, revealing she needs to undergo another rehabilitation process for her meniscus. Despite the setback, she expressed her commitment to supporting her team during her recovery and is determined to return for future championships. Alongside Weaver, defenders Nicole Payne and Marie Müller were also placed on the season-ending injury list, both suffering knee injuries during recent activities.
Unfortunately my knee never fully healed from last season's injury so I will be restarting the process of rehabbing my meniscus.
I am not done yet and can't wait to be back to win another championship!
Weaver has played in 68 games since joining the Thorns in 2020, scoring 16 goals.
Payne injured her knee in an exhibition game against Angel City at the Coachella Valley Invitational earlier this month.
