Azeez Al-Shaair expressed feeling he was in a 'really dark place' following his three-game suspension, questioning if he would ever play football again.
Al-Shaair spoke candidly about his emotions during his suspension, stating, 'The things that you can think when somebody says they're in a dark place, as dark as you can go is where I was truthfully.'
He acknowledged the severity of the situation with Trevor Lawrence, mentioning the 'fencing response' commonly associated with traumatic brain injuries and reflecting on the chaos that ensued.
While expressing understanding for his suspension, Al-Shaair disagreed with how he was characterized, stating, 'I really had a moment of, there's no way I can go out and play if that's how they view me.'
