Hall, 45, served as Tulane's offensive coordinator in 2019-20 before becoming Southern Miss head coach from 2021–24, where the Golden Eagles went 14–30. Hall was fired after a 1–6 final season and returned to Tulane in 2024 as pass game coordinator. Sumrall will remain with 11–2 Tulane through its College Football Playoff run. Tulane, the American Conference champion, enters the CFP as the 11th seed and will play No. 6 Ole Miss on Dec. 20.
