"CFP qualifier Tulane is expected to promote veteran assistant Will Hall to head coach, sources tell ESPN. He replaces Jon Sumrall who, last week, accepted the job to coach at Florida. Hall, 45, was the Green Wave's offensive coordinator in 2019-20 before he left to become head coach at Southern Miss from 2021-24. The Golden Eagles went 14-30 over the four seasons with Hall at the helm."

Tulane is expected to promote veteran assistant Will Hall to head coach after Jon Sumrall accepted the Florida job. Hall, 45, served as Tulane's offensive coordinator in 2019-20 before becoming Southern Miss head coach from 2021–24, where the Golden Eagles went 14–30. Hall was fired after a 1–6 final season and returned to Tulane in 2024 as pass game coordinator. Sumrall will remain with 11–2 Tulane through its College Football Playoff run. Tulane, the American Conference champion, enters the CFP as the 11th seed and will play No. 6 Ole Miss on Dec. 20.
