Reid's debut rankings for the 2026 NFL draft: The top 50 players in the class
"This list is a snapshot of where things stand right now, based on my own scouting (both in person and on film) and conversations I've had with NFL scouts and evaluators. These are not final -- some players will emerge over the next five months, while others will slide or perhaps not even end up in the draft at all. But this is where I see the Class of 2026 right now."
"He's a hybrid defender who is used both as an off-ball linebacker and off the edge. Because of his explosiveness, I like Reese more as an edge rusher in the NFL, where his combination of bend, power and play violence can be best utilized, though he can also be used sporadically on the second level. I believe Reese has Pro Bowl potential early in his NFL career."
The 2026 NFL draft is scheduled for April 23 in Pittsburgh. An initial top-50 ranking of prospects is presented as a current snapshot based on in-person and film scouting and conversations with NFL scouts and evaluators. The rankings are not final; some players may rise or fall or not enter the draft. Scouting reports are provided for each prospect, with positional rankings included and underclassmen marked by an asterisk. Reese is a major riser, a hybrid defender used as an off-ball linebacker and on the edge, projected more as an explosive edge rusher with bend, power and play violence and early Pro Bowl potential. Downs has played for Alabama and Ohio State, has been used as a "middle hole" player, and is a consistent tackler with strong ball skills.
