A second-round pick (30th overall) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1984, Browner also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Raiders and San Diego Chargers during a five-year NFL career."
Keith Browner, 63, died Tuesday morning in San Leandro, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau confirmed. His son said he spoke with his father Monday night when the elder Browner had stomach problems, vomiting and fatigue, and that Browner planned to go to the hospital the next morning. Browner was reportedly getting ready to leave when he curled over a chair and collapsed; TMZ reported it appears he suffered a heart attack and that his death was unexpected. Alameda County authorities provided no cause of death Wednesday. Browner was a second-round pick in 1984 and played five NFL seasons. He was the fifth of six brothers, four of whom reached the NFL. His son, Keith Browner Jr., also played college and professional football, including three seasons at California.
