Jaguars OK'd to play '27 home games in Orlando during renovations
"The Jaguars will play that season at 65,000-seat Camping World Stadium, which has played host to six Pro Bowls since 2017, but will remain at their team facility in Jacksonville during the week and travel approximately 150 miles south for the games."
"Jaguars owner Shad Khan and the city of Jacksonville agreed to split the $1.4 billion EverBank Stadium renovation, with each contributing $625 million. The city also agreed to pay $150 million over the 2025-26 seasons on maintenance and repairs to prepare the stadium for construction."
"The Jacksonville City Council voted 14-1 in June 2024 to approve the deal, which also calls for Khan to be responsible for cost overruns of the renovation as well as 80.4% of the game-day expenses."
The NFL owners approved the Jacksonville Jaguars' plan to play home games in Orlando during the 2027 season while EverBank Stadium undergoes a $1.4 billion renovation. The team will use Camping World Stadium, which can hold 65,000 fans. Jaguars general manager James Gladstone sees this as an opportunity to reach a new fan base. The renovation costs are shared between the Jaguars and Jacksonville, with the city covering 55% of the total expenses. EverBank Stadium's capacity will be reduced to approximately 43,000 for the 2026 season.
