Michael Penix Jr. suffered a partially-torn left ACL in Week 11 of 2025 but reports indicate he already is doing squats and expects medical clearance by April. The 2026 season will determine his extension eligibility and influence Atlanta's decision on a fifth-year option by May 2027. Penix has not yet matched expectations as the No. 8 overall pick, compiling a 4-8 record in 12 starts and a 58.0 QBR in 2025. Coaching changes to Kevin Stefanski and Tommy Rees could better utilize Penix's arm strength and affect postseason chances if he participates in OTAs and camp.
