Ex-NFL OL Leno retires on solemn anniversary
""That day changed everything for me," Leno wrote in a post on Instagram. "It changed the way I see life, the way I carry myself and most of all, it changed what matters most to me.""
""To our Angel, Paitynn - This moment is for you," Leno wrote. "Dad"
"He called his wife "my rock." And he mentioned his daughters Carsynn, Oaklynn, and Jordynn and said being their dad is the "greatest role of my life.""
Charles Leno Jr. announced his retirement at 2:46 p.m. on Oct. 14, marking the two-year anniversary of his wife Jen's miscarriage of their fourth daughter, Paitynn. He was informed of the loss while in Atlanta preparing for a game against the Falcons and did not play. Leno said the loss had a devastating impact and that on that day he knew he was done with football. He spent seven seasons with the Chicago Bears and three with Washington after being traded. Chicago drafted him in the seventh round in 2014, and he started 141 games at left tackle. He wrote a three-page letter thanking fans, teammates, coaches, family, friends and God, called his wife "my rock," named daughters Carsynn, Oaklynn and Jordynn, and said being their dad is the greatest role of his life.
