Cards' Trey Benson out for rest of season (knee)
"[He] just hasn't progressed to the point that he can go out there and play football right now,"
"keeps making progress and turning the corner. I want to see him out there. When he is ready to go, he will go."
"I know he's disappointed and we're disappointed,"
Trey Benson will remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season after failing to progress sufficiently from a knee injury sustained in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks. Benson underwent arthroscopic meniscus surgery and was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 1. He was designated to return on Nov. 19 but was not activated during the 21-day practice window, ending his season. The team expressed disappointment about the outcome. Left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. will not play in Sunday's game after exiting last Sunday's loss with a knee injury.
