Inside the Raptors training camp finale in Calgary
"Especially for a rookie. That's, that's crazy. You just gotta try and play in space. You gotta try and get away from him as much as you can."
"Really strong, can move his feet, smart on the defensive end, he makes plays, he can guard on and off the ball, he's been pushing me since summer time"
"We're noticing that on both ends of the floor (the added strength). Defensively he's doing a much better job with contact. He's doing a much better job of rebounding the ball. A much better job of staying in front of the guys."
"He's the ultimate leader. Put people in the right places. He's not afraid to have those conflict moments with people. (At the same time), He's very hard on himself, but he has high expectations for himself, and we have high expectations for him as well."
A sold-out open practice in Calgary featured rookie Collin Murray-Boyles delivering a dominant, confident performance that impressed teammates. Brandon Ingram made his debut and praised Ochai Agbaji's defensive versatility and competitive push. Coach Darko Rajakovic noted Gradey Dick's added strength and defensive improvements while instructing a simpler offensive role. Scottie Barnes commended Jamal Shead's leadership and high expectations. The coaching staff emphasized daily energy, defensive aggression, and letting offense flow from stops. The trip also included team bonding time in Banff outside of practice.
