BYD cars now have an on-vehicle DJI drone launch platform
Briefly

BYD has launched the 'Lingyuan', a roof-mounted drone launching system developed in partnership with DJI, now available for all its vehicles in China. Priced at 16,000 yuan (approximately $2,197), the system allows drivers to launch drones with a button on a touchscreen. The drone can automatically return when within two kilometers of the vehicle and can follow the car up to speeds of 54 km/h. The package includes a DJI drone and apps that enable features like AI recognition and video editing, significantly enhancing the functionality and appeal of BYD's electric vehicles.
The Lingyuan drone-launching system, developed in partnership with DJI, integrates seamlessly atop BYD vehicles, allowing drivers to autonomously deploy drones while on the move.
BYD's Lingyuan system not only enhances vehicle utility but also introduces advanced features like AI-driven photography and remote drone operation, expanding the EV ecosystem.
