Chris Wilson dedicated 15 years and over $1 million to restoring the Wappen von Hamburg cruise ship, renaming it Aurora, with dreams of turning it into a museum.
After an unfortunate series of events, including nearby ships sinking, Wilson realized he could no longer keep Aurora where it was moored, leading to its eventual sale.
Sadly, Aurora suffered from a hole and started taking on water, leading to concerns over leaking diesel fuel and oil into the Delta Waterway, complicating the city's response.
City officials in Stockton are now grappling with how to dispose of the ship, which they currently have no clear ownership of, making it a complicated situation.
