Property Watch: A Grand Craftsman Filled with Botanical Stained Glass
Briefly

Peggy Moretti, who had no prior knowledge of historic preservation, became the executive director of Restore Oregon after falling in love with her 1906 Craftsman home. The renovation process transformed her career and deepened her appreciation for historic architecture.
The Craftsman home, a collaboration between renowned horticulturist Louis Pfunder and architect Emil Schacht, features stunning botanical-themed stained glass windows by Povey Brothers Studio, embodying the artistic spirit of the early 20th century.
Renovating their home, the Morettis restored the front porch using a vintage postcard to guide them, successfully employing traditional craftsmanship methods which brought the home back to its original grandeur.
Inside, the home showcases historic elements with light streaming through Art Nouveau style Povey glass windows, coffered ceilings, and a music room adorned with stained-glass tulip motifs that reflect the beauty of the Craftsman style.
