"I'll never rent [it out] again," she tells Realtor.com®. "What happened to me is what every landlord dreads." This reflects the immense stress and financial burden caused by her tenant's actions.
Woods started renting out her unique Calabasas-area home to two men in the entertainment industry who were referred to her through a local and reputable real estate agency.
Woods, who bought the home in 1992 and spent years renovating it, initially enjoyed success in the short-term rental market until the pandemic and new regulations complicated her situation.
"Before I knew it, they were renting out my houses every night. I was making money hand over fist," she says, illustrating the dramatic shift in her rental experience.
