Municipal Library Caja de Cultura in Torrelodones / Gabriel Gallegos Borges
Briefly

The building designed by Fco. Javier Sáenz de Oíza was initially a commercial space that transitioned into a cultural facility after being acquired by the City Council.
A significant aspect of the renovation was enhancing the formal-structural entity of the existing building while creating a functional and flexible space for cultural use.
The building's design includes two distinctive covering pavilions, which are truncated slate pyramids that contribute to its overall visual identity in the urban context.
New openings were introduced to improve natural lighting, addressing previous limitations posed by the building's dark wooden roofs and inadequate skylights.
