The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most-visited park in the US, but the sheer number of visitors, coupled with its proximity to over 50% of the US population, has led me to rank it lower on my list. Joshua Tree National Park is unique and undeniably beautiful, with its otherworldly landscapes and fascinating geology. However, as it's gained popularity, accommodation prices have spiked and the increased crowding in both the park and surrounding area has impacted my experience, making it less enjoyable.
Visiting Yellowstone, the first national park in the US, is an experience worth having. Its legendary status draws many visitors, but the park becomes quite congested. The combination of breathtaking sights and dense crowds can diminish the serene experience one would hope for in nature.
