According to a lawsuit, Celeste Champoux has overstayed her welcome in an Upper West Side couple's condo for over a year, claiming she needed temporary housing before moving to Hawaii.
The couple’s attorney described the situation as a nightmare, noting that they had agreed to host Champoux for a short stay, not anticipating that she would become a long-term occupant who threatens their personal property.
Champoux's attorney alleged that the couple committed 'elder abuse' and unlawfully cut off essential services, claiming they are the ones responsible for the distress.
Additionally, the couple has also filed a fraud lawsuit against the friend who initially recommended Champoux, alleging he misrepresented her need for housing and her planned move.
