As part of her housing policy agenda, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has promised to "cut red tape and needless bureaucracy" to build millions of additional homes and bring down costs.
Twenty-five years into this process, a new study by Swiss researchers has found that upzoning boosted living space and housing units by a significant amount - about 9% in the subsequent five to 10 years.
