To achieve the desired finish, she began by sanding the drawers with 120-grit sandpaper and cleaning them with sugar soap to prepare for painting. This preparation is crucial for any painting project, ensuring that the final finish adheres well and looks professional.
The wood-effect paint by Maison Deco comes in two parts: a base coat and a top coat. Kate explains, "I applied the base coat in the direction that I wanted the wood-effect grain to appear, let that dry for 12 hours, and then applied the top coat in the same direction, which enhances the wood grain effect." This meticulous technique highlights the importance of application in achieving a high-quality finish.
