$1.9 Million Homes in Hamburg
Briefly

Built in 1891, this home features nearly 12-foot-high ceilings and original details such as decorative brick and filigree window panes. Though renovated in a contemporary style, the interior retains its Art Nouveau aesthetic with herringbone wood floors, stained glass, etched- and lead-crystal windows, and decorative staircase spindles.
Bergedorf, about 14 miles southeast of the city center, is one of 14 quarters in the eponymous borough. Lush with green spaces, including a 2,125-acre nature preserve, Kirchwerder Wiesen, the neighborhood is known by its nickname, the Garden of Hamburg.
The first floor has an open format living and dining room anchored by a modern wood-burning stove. From the living room, a two-tiered terrace leads into the backyard. The kitchen is separate, renovated two years ago and equipped with Miele and Bora appliances.
Of local interest are the Bergedorf Castle, Hamburg's only medieval castle, now housing a history museum and art exhibitions; the Hamburg Observatory; and several open-air museums and historical sites.
