In a bizarre and violent incident in Harlem, a robber posing as someone in mourning attacked a funeral director while reportedly seeking to arrange a funeral. The attacker, seen on surveillance footage initially appearing friendly as he fist-bumped the 66-year-old director, suddenly turned aggressive, demanding money, punching the director in the head, and brandishing a machete. He made off with the director's phone and wallet. Although the director declined medical assistance, police are actively searching for the assailant and have released video footage in hopes of capturing him.

The still-at-large crook was seen amiably fist-bumping the 66-year-old funeral director in his office at Daniels Wilhelmina Funeral Home on Feb. 17 while pretending to be there to arrange a funeral, the NYPD said while releasing video of it Wednesday.
