New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced a $150 million state investment to support Suffolk County's expansion and infrastructure development at MacArthur Airport. This funding aims to purchase land, develop pathways to LIRR stations, and enhance other necessary infrastructure, complementing a previous $40 million commitment. County leaders emphasize the project as a catalyst for economic development and job creation, with Suffolk County contributing an additional $50 million. The expansion is seen as crucial for facilitating growth and retaining young professionals in the community.
With this investment, we are laying the foundation for long-term economic growth, bringing in high-quality jobs, and creating new opportunities for our young professionals to live and work right here in our community.
This gets all that going. It's the sewer, the roads, the connection, the arterials. We've already invested money here in the airport and the county is going to be allocating $50 million as well.
