Mayor Adams, City Council makes education, affordability announcement in East Flatbush
Briefly

In a significant stride towards improving education in East Flatbush, Mayor Eric Adams announced a partnership with the City Council aimed at transforming early childhood education. This coalition is set to create a roadmap for an ambitious $100 million investment, directly addressing the urgent needs of local children and families.
The initiative will notably increase the availability of seats for 3-year-old to kindergarten children by up to 1,500, providing more very young residents access to essential early learning opportunities that will set a strong foundation for their future.
Moreover, additional funding will be directed towards enhancing free after-school programs, further supporting working families in the community, while also ensuring that undocumented children are included through enhanced allocations to the Promise NYC program.
To maintain accountability and progress, the City Council and mayor's office will hold biweekly meetings, allowing them to monitor the effectiveness of their initiatives and address any potential challenges as they arise.
