Hochul promised a 'list' for how NY would work with ICE - but the list never came

Governor Kathy Hochul has faced criticism for failing to provide a public "list" regarding New York's cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Although she stated that the list would clarify under what conditions the state would work with ICE, especially concerning criminal migrants, it never materialized. Hochul's approach marks a shift from her predecessor's more rigid sanctuary policies amid heightened scrutiny over illegal immigration in the state. A Hochul spokesperson suggested that the promised list involves four broad categories derived from a previous executive order, but specifics were still lacking.

‘We’ll be announcing this probably before the end of the year or early next year,’ Hochul pledged. ‘I think the public has a right to know.’
