But while Hochul said she, state Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie all agreed to the tentative deal she announced in the afternoon news conference, the state Senate was reportedly still debating the details of a housing plan at the same time.
The plan notably does not include an increase in state income taxes for some of New York's highest earners that was put forward by both houses of the state legislature but fiercely opposed by Hochul.
