Alex Kristofcak, a former Assistant US Attorney, was placed on leave after criticizing the Trump administration's DEI policies. He previously condemned a letter sent by a US attorney enforcing anti-DEI policies at Georgetown Law School as a significant abuse of power. Following his criticism, Kristofcak resigned and plans to remain in the legal field. In his statements, he expressed that the administration's disallowance of dissent is reminiscent of his early life in a communist regime, highlighting the suppression of free speech in political environments.
"I've been told in no uncertain terms that my criticism prompted this action," Kristofcak said in a new LinkedIn post on Saturday.
"While the experience has been jarring, it is not wholly surprising: the Trump administration has made it clear that it does not tolerate dissent," Kristofcak said.
