John Alite, once an enforcer for the Gambino crime family, has reinvented himself as a councilman in Englishtown, New Jersey. After serving 14 years in prison for serious crimes including murder, he aims to use his past to positively impact the community. Recruited by local officials impressed with his civic efforts, Alite faces skepticism but believes his understanding of street life and government agility will assist in his new role.
