A young Pennsylvania police officer, Ryan Kingerski, tragically took his own life at 26 after suffering debilitating side effects from LASIK eye surgery. His family shared that he experienced severe pain, including headaches and vision problems, following the elective procedure. Despite their efforts to find help, his condition only worsened, leading him to express deep regret before his death. His parents expressed their heartbreak and desire to raise awareness about the potential consequences of LASIK surgery, which they initially thought was a straightforward procedure.
"He left us a note that said, 'I can't take this anymore. LASIK took everything from me.' That's the note that we got left."
"It just ... it ruined his life. Ruined it. Completely ruined his life in 12 seconds," Tim told WTAE News.
