In a remarkable act of heroism, a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper rescued a 6-year-old girl who had been kidnapped for over a month. During a routine traffic stop, the trooper discovered a front-seat passenger had a kidnapping warrant. Upon checking the vehicle, he found the missing girl inside, alongside two men with criminal histories. After securing the suspects, the trooper built rapport with the frightened girl, ultimately learning her true identity and ensuring her safe recovery without harm. The suspects have been taken into custody, while further information was withheld to protect the ongoing case.
The trooper, with help from a local sheriff's deputy, secured both men before safely removing the girl from the vehicle, highway patrol said.
Ultimately, our trooper calmed the girl down and got her to tell him her real name.
