A recent TransUnion report highlights that families with children are 'power users' of gig services like ride-hailing and food delivery apps. 61% of parents utilize these services weekly, compared to 40% of non-parents. Additionally, households with kids spend significantly more on these services, with 23% spending over $500 monthly, compared to just 5% of childless users. As apps like Uber shift their focus from acquiring customers to integrating into daily routines, they are catering more to families, including offering features for teens with parental oversight.
It's not only usage in terms of frequency, but usage in terms of just sheer amount of money that's spent as well.
Families represent exactly the kinds of users that many gig apps want: People who use the apps frequently and spend a lot on them.
