On Friday morning, a ceiling collapse at Carpenter Elementary School in Wolfeboro, N.H., prompted an emergency evacuation of students from a second-floor classroom. At approximately 10:30 a.m., the Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Department responded to reports of sagging ceilings and falling light fixtures. Fortunately, the situation was handled promptly, and no injuries were reported. Following the evacuation, school officials announced that the entire building would be assessed for structural safety to ensure the safety of all children and staff in the future.
The situational awareness and quick actions of the Carpenter staff prevented any injuries from occurring, as all children were evacuated in a calm, safe, and expedited manner.
