John Jessup, a former Indiana politician, was sentenced to six to fifteen years in prison for sexually assaulting his daughter, Rachel Keesling, during her 21st birthday trip to Las Vegas. Keesling recounted her traumatic experience, stating her life feels shattered after the assault. Despite being urged to drink excessively by her father, Keesling eventually passed out and was taken back to their hotel room. Throughout the trial, she spoke openly about the impact of her father’s actions, demonstrating resilience by reclaiming her identity and addressing the court directly about her father's sickening behavior.

Keesling delivered an emotional statement before his sentencing, saying: 'Since my biological father sexually assaulted me... my life feels like it's shattered.'

Keesling remarked, 'I'm processing a lot right now in all aspects,' expressing relief that her distressing ordeal is finally over.
