Sanjai Syamaprasad, a 47-year-old ex-employee of a Nassau County sleep center, has been indicted for secretly recording patients in bathrooms using hidden cameras disguised as smoke detectors. Facing multiple counts of unlawful surveillance, he is accused of installing the devices in patients' and staff bathrooms from July 2023 to April 2024. At least five victims, including a child, were identified from the footage. Syamaprasad allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by discarding the camera and an SD card, which police recovered during their investigation.
