The shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. when a gunman opened fire into a crowd outside, hitting the man multiple times. Despite being rushed to Bellevue Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Police indicated that this was a random act, as witnesses reported no prior interaction between the victim and shooter. The assailant fled the scene, prompting a police manhunt.
The gunman ran off towards East Houston Street and was being sought by police. Witnesses told cops there was no interaction between the two men before the shooting.
