Since its 2021 launch, the Pinault Collection has integrated live music into its exhibitions. The latest exhibition, 'Corps et âmes', showcases Arthur Jafa's influential work, highlighting the intersection of music and Black identity. Central to this exhibition is Jafa's powerful video 'Love is the Message, The Message is Death', which combines elements of violence, culture, and history, set to contemporary music. The exhibition features over 40 artists exploring body representation in art, curated under the guidance of Cyrus Goberville, enhancing the institution's commitment to dynamic cultural programming.
Jafa's work is a rich jumping-off point for Cyrus Goberville, the head of cultural programs at the Bourse de Commerce, whose role entails curating live music events that reflect the artists' influence.
The exhibition explores the representation of the body in contemporary art and features over 40 artists, including iconic figures like Ana Mendieta and Kerry James Marshall.
