Joey Chestnut, a 16-time winner of the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, is set to return this Fourth of July after a dispute prevented his participation last year. He announced this on Instagram, highlighting the event's importance to him as a tradition and a part of American culture. The conflict arose from a sponsorship deal Chestnut had with Impossible Foods, which was resolved through negotiations with Major League Eating, allowing him to compete again. The contest will feature pre-show festivities and separate competitions for women and men.

"This event means the world to me," Chestnut said in a post on Instagram. "It's a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life."

To be clear: Nathan's is the only hot dog company I've ever worked with," he said. "I respect that there were differences in interpretation, but I'm grateful we've been able to find common ground."
