Mysterious baby seal flops into middle of Connecticut city: 'He was here to try the clam pizza'
Briefly

A baby seal created quite a scene in New Haven, Connecticut, when it flopped onto a city street, causing a traffic jam. Found at the intersection of Chapel Street/East Street, the police were alerted by a passerby who suspected the seal might be injured. Officers kept watch over the seal until it was transported to Mystic Aquarium for rehabilitation. While the origins of the seal remain unclear, officials reported that it is doing well, although it has not yet started eating on its own.
The seal was found at Chapel Street/East Street after being called in by a passerby about 2:20PM on Sunday. Officers stayed with him until he was eventually transferred to Mystic Aquarium for rehabilitation.
We are working on getting more updates as the week goes on, but as of now we can report that the gray seal is bright and alert, and showing interest in fish, though he is still not eating on his own.
I checked with them yesterday and he's recuperating. We assumed he was here to try the clam pizza but I can't confirm that. We're just happy he's safe.
