The popular smoothie dupe is known as the Coco Cloud smoothie at East Village Organics. It's supposed to be a perfect NYC version of Erewhon's actual Coconut Cloud smoothie.
To my delight, I was the sole person ordering at the smoothie bar. My Coco Cloud was quickly pulsed to its beautiful sky blue color and served to me on the opposite end.
My immediate reaction: this smoothie is mid. Now maybe it's just me, but I personally think the dupe tasted exactly like what it was, an average smoothie.
A typical smoothie at Erewhon can run you an average of $18. Surprisingly, NYC's dupe came out to be about $11. So if you're really that curious, go ahead, drop the $11 and see for yourself.
